Shanna Witges, FNP-C, grew up in rural Washington, Missouri and took interest in medicine at a young age. She earned her undergraduate degree in nursing at Deaconess College of Nursing and her master’s degree at St. Louis University. She brings twenty plus years of experience with her to the practice.
Shanna has a particular interest in women’s health issues and preventative care. She seeks to make sure that women, who are caregivers to everyone else, are also well cared for themselves. She focuses on management of chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and improving the overall health of her patients. Shanna’s primary goal is prevention of major chronic illness. Furthermore, she is a certified DOT Medical Examiner and provides DOT physicals.

Getting to Know Shanna Witges:
Service to others is very important to Shanna Witges. She is active in her church and participates in an annual trips to Cairo, Illinois. The church group repairs homes, cleans up yards, installs handicap accessible ramps, along with collecting food and clothing to be distributed to the needy in the community. Additionally, she has traveled on multiple mission trips to Ecuador in an effort to provide basic medical care to local people. Her experience on the mission trips had great impact with respect to appreciating how well blessed we are in the United States with an excellent health care system. She hopes to travel once again to South America to help those in need.
In her spare time, Shanna enjoys cycling, traveling, reading and cooking. She spends time with her family at their cabin, on her husband’s family farm in southern Illinois. She and her family take pleasure in hunting, hiking, and relaxing around the fire.
